Kate Meader scores with JOCK WANTED (Rookie Rebels #6). In this story, new Chicago Rebels GM Hale Fitzpatrick asks Tara Becker to have a fake a relationship with one of his forwards, Dex O’Malley, to help boost Dex’ image after a negative PR incident. The last thing Fitz expects is to become jealous of Dex.
Kate Meader does a great job with the story. Tara is friends with a lot of WAGs on the team. She has made it know that she wants an NHL husband. She initially comes off as superficial. We discover why she wants a rich husband in this story and learn what a truly selfless and caring person Tara is.
Fitz and Tara totally have the wrong opinion of the other. Then they get to know each other and let’s just say their chemistry is off the charts. Meanwhile, Dex likes having Tara around and wouldn’t mind her becoming his real girlfriend.
JOCK WANTED is an entertaining story. It is clever and heartwarming. It is a fantastic addition to the Rookie Rebels series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
