My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Gina Azzi lights the lamp with HOT SHOT’S MISTAKE (Tennessee Thunderbolts #1). Hockey star Devon Hardt is less than thrilled at relocation to Tennessee after living and playing in New York. He plans on rehabbing his shoulder and getting traded to a better team in a major city. He doesn’t plan on his new physical therapist, Mila Lewis. She is a hometown girl who had a tragic past that the town never lets her forget and move past.
I love Mila. She is the girl next door type that everyone loves. Devon was a superstar whose career suffered after an injury. The two characters do not hit it off initially. After getting to know each other their options of each other change, and they become friends. The two are good for each other, helping each other heal. They also see things from a new perspective. I love Mila’s mom saying, “Choose to have a good day.” They are wise words to live by.
HOT SHOT’S MISTAKE is an excellent start to the Tennessee Thunderbolts series. It is skillfully written and entertaining throughout. There are interesting conflicts. The story has a lot of substance and is thought-provoking. I recommend this story to people who Gina Azzi’s Boston Hawks Hockey series and sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
