Brooklyn’s star winger and billionaire heir to Drake Enterprises, Cornelius (Neil) Harmon Drake III, and Bombshell’s women’s hockey all-star Charlotte (Charli) Higgins wake up together in Las Vegas married. They want to end the union quietly but have no such luck when the news of their marriage is leaked. However, before they get divorced, Charlie might be able to help Neil out with some family issues on the Drake Family Foundation.
I really like Neil and Charli. Neil is down to earth and has great values. He is diabetic and works hard. He has had a crush on Charli and does not want a divorce. Charli is a strong heroine. She had a tough life. Her parents died when she was young. She ends up being passed around by family members. This causes some self-worth and trust issues with her. When they were younger, Charlie attended the same private school as Drake on scholarship. She does not have good memories from school. I love that their teammates like them together. The two are good for each other.
SHENANIGANS is an excellent addition to the Brooklyn and Brooklyn Bruisers series. It is a skillfully written and entertaining read. The characters are dynamic and likable. I enjoyed the plot. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
