My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kat Mizera and Brenda Rothert hit it in the net with HARD LIMIT (St. Louis Mavericks #2). St. Louis Mavericks star defender Lars Jansson is auctioned off at a charity event. Lucky for him, he was won by Plus-size supermodel / lingerie company owner Sheridan Lee. Neither one of them is interested in a relationship. However, after one night together, they want to spend more time with one another.
Sheridan is an amazing heroine. She is still recovering from a life-threatening accident. She had to learn to walk again. She started her own business and had an insightful vision. She is going through an ugly legal battle with her ex. Lars is socially awkward. He discovers that he might have autism. He struggles with what that means to him. I love that Lars makes Sheridan feel safe.
HARD LIMIT is skillfully written and thought-provoking. The characters have lots of depth. This is a story that had me laughing, smiling, and crying. I love the Mavericks’ group text. HARD LIMIT is an excellent addition to the St. Louis Mavericks series. I cannot wait for Nash’s and Luciana’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
