The Best Men by Lauren Blakely & Sarina Bowen Review

The Best MenThe Best Men by Sarina Bowen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lauren Blakely & Sarina Bowen make an awesome team with THE BEST MEN. The story starts out after Mark Banks drunk texts his sister, Hannah; he accidentally including her fiancé, Phillipe (Flip) Dubouis III, and his best man, Asher St. James, on the thread. Which would be okay if he didn’t bash their upcoming marriage saying that it was doomed and mentioned that he thought Asher was Flip’s “super-hot wingman.”

Asher St. James is a former Premier League soccer star. He currently is a top photographer for athletes. He is openly gay and assumes Mark is straight because he was married. Mark is a Wallstreet trader. He is bisexual. He married his college girlfriend after getting her pregnant. He is an amazing dad. He adores his daughter. He has been recently divorced and a bit bitter about it – thus the drunk text.

Mark is Hannah’s Best Man. The couple asks Asher and Mark if they could head down to Miami early to check on a few things for their destination wedding. The two opposites pretty much annoy each other in the beginning. As they get to know each other, they both discover they had the wrong impression of the other. It is classic opposites attract / enemies-to-lovers romance.

THE BEST MEN is an amusing and entertaining novel. It had me laughing out loud. I love Mark’s spreadsheets. He is a man after my organized heart. The story was heartfelt and skillfully executed. I’m a huge fan of Sarina Bowen. This was my first time reading a book by Lauren Blakely. The two are excellent co-authors. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
