My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Toni Aleo is on a winning streak with ALL THE SAUCE (IceCats #4). This is Owen Adler and Angela Paxton story. Owen is the son of Elli and Shea Adler (TAKING SHOTS, Nashville Assassins #1). Angie is the daughter of Lucy and Benji Paxton (RUSHING THE GOAL, Nashville Assassins #11).
I loved Angie’s and Owen’s story. Angie was attracted to Owen growing up but thought he was annoying and uninterested in her. Owen assumed that Angie hated him. Currently, Owen is a rookie on the South Carolina IceCats. He is missing his twin brother, Evan, who he is separated from for the first time. Angie is finishing up college, while interning for the psychologist for the IceCats. Angela is struggling with her weight, stress, and matters from her past. The story deals a lot with depression and weight issues. I appreciated that these two were given a chance to reconnect and get to know each other better. They make an incredible couple.
ALL THE SAUCE is a heartwarming and entertaining read. It has real-life issues. I love that we were introduced to these characters in the Nashville Assassins series and have seen them grow up. Followers of Toni Aleo will not want to miss this book. The story is well written. Therefore, it could be followed as a standalone. However, I recommend reading the previous books, so you are more invested in the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
