Brenda Rothert is heating things up with MAVERICK (Sin City Saints Hockey #1). Maverick Hagen is the new captain of the Sin City Saints expansion NHL team. Gia Ford is a professional gambler. Both do not need any distractions. However, after months of hanging around each other, they cannot deny their attraction to each other. So, they decide on a bet to settle their next action.
I like Maverick. He overcame what should have been a career-ending injury. He is persistent and hard working. Gia is a fun heroine. People underestimate her. She is smart and focused. She is excellent at reading people. She has a dangerous score to settle. The two have a sizzling chemistry.
Brenda Rothert did a great job with the start of the Sin City Saints Hockey series. It was creative and skillfully written. The characters were dimensional and likeable. I’m looking forward to Pike’s story next. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
