Piper Rayne is on a winning streak with THE TROUBLE WITH #9 (Hockey Hotties #2). Florida Fury hockey team owner, Carl Gerhardt, required everyone on the team go to therapy. Maksim Petrov has been putting it off because he kisses therapist, Paisley Pearce, on New Year’s Eve.
I was looking forward to reading this story ever since Aiden Drake (from book #1, MY LUCKY #13) dragged Maksim to the therapist office in that story. I was not disappointed. Maksim is a good guy. Due to an incident from his past, he is the self-appointed team enforcer, wanting no one to get hurt on his watch. Unfortunately, he’s been in the penalty box a little too often for the team owners liking.
Paisley is the best friends with team owner, Carl Gerhardt, daughter. Carl is like a father to her. That causes some interesting issues. I love Maksim and Paisley. They are good for each other. I enjoyed the “original” dates Maksim planned. He had some creative ideas. THE TROUBLE WITH #9 was a heartfelt and entertaining read. The characters were likeable and relatable. They had a lot of dimensions and grew throughout the story. The plot was well executed. I look forward to book three, FAKING IT WITH #41. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
