Talk Hockey to Me (Bears Hockey #3) by Kelly Jamieson Review

Talk Hockey to Me (Bears Hockey, #3)Talk Hockey to Me by Kelly Jamieson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kelly Jamieson gets a hat trick with book three in the Bears Hockey series, TALK HOCKEY TO ME. In this story, NHL player Hunter Morrisette needs a new agent at a critical time in his career. He looks to his college friend and sports agent Kate Bridges. They have not seen each other since they were on a group vacation in Cancun right after the Frozen Four Championship. They spent the night together and have not talked since.

I love the characters in this story. Kate is the daughter of the GM of the Chicago Aces. She also played college hockey. Hunter was on the Swift Current Warriors bus crash when he played juniors. He suffers anxiety as a result. He was best friends with Easton Millar (Book #1, MUST LOVE DOGS...AND HOCKEY) and Josh Heller (Book #2, YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY). It was thought-provoking how each man handled the tragedy differently. It was heartbreaking how much they all suffered.

TALK HOCKEY TO ME was skillfully written. The characters faced interesting obstacles and challenges. I love that Kate and Hunter get a second chance together. I like how the story overlapped with the previous two novels. I appreciated that the book had some crossover with Kelly Jamieson’s Aces Hockey and Bayard Hockey series. The book could be read as a stand-alone but a strongly suggest reading the previous two books first. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
