Tending Tara by Kat Mizera
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kat Mizera hits it in the net with TENDING TARA (Alaska Blizzard #7). In this story, back-up goalie Donovan Legori is ready to be a starting goalie, even if it means getting traded. Meanwhile, Tara Laassonen needed a green card to stay in the U.S. with her NHL star brother, Miikka (CHASING CHARLI, Alaska Blizzard #6). As Tara’s and Donovan’s feelings for each other grow, things become complicated when Donavan might get what he had been hoping for. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I enjoyed this novel. We got to know Tara in Miikka’s book. I loved hearing her story. I like that Tara plays hockey, and that she had that in common with Donovan. The two are good together. They both have long term exes that hurt them and caused some insecurities. It makes them assume things that are not true. The characters are both easy to like and relate to.
The story could be read as a stand-alone, but it does include characters from the previous books. I do recommend reading them in order because it is a great series. TENDING TARA is skillfully written and entertaining from start to finish. It is a wonderful addition to the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
