Gametime (Moo U #4) by Jami Davenport Review

Gametime (Moo U, #4)Gametime by Jami Davenport
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jami Davenport lights the lamp with GAMETIME (Moo U #4). In this story, Burlington University Hockey player Paxton Graham has had a crush on his friend Naomi Smith since their freshman year. Unfortunately, she is interested in his identical twin, Patrick. When then hook-up he thought that his dreams finally came true only to be humiliated to discover she thought he was his twin. They try to go back to being just friends. Meanwhile, Naomi starts to wonder if she never realized what was always in front of her.

I loved this story. Pax is a wonderful character. He is the smart responsible twin. He has always felt like second best to his brother Patrick, thus having a confidence problem. Their mother died when they were young and their father in a nasty piece of work that tries to live vicariously through his sons. Meanwhile, the twins are used to always being with each other and are coming to terms with the fact that they are going to be separated and start to grow apart. Naomi’s dad in a Moo U alumni and NHL legend. Naomi never felt like she lived up to her father’s expectations. Both characters grow tremendously throughout the story.

I love that Paxton was drafted to Jami Davenport’s Seattle Sockeyes and included appearances from characters in that series. Jami Davenport and Kat Mizera and who wrote Paxton’s twin’s book OVERTIME (Moo U #5) did a great job coordinating their stories. GAMETIME is a perfect fit in Sarina Bowen’s world of True North. I recommend this story to people who enjoy hockey romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
