Bombshells (Brooklyn Bruisers #8) by Sarina Bowen Review

BombshellsBombshells by Sarina Bowen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sarina Bowen is on a winning streak with book eight in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, BOMBSHELLS. In this story, the Brooklyn Bruisers find themselves suddenly sharing the rink with the new women’s hockey team the Brooklyn Bombshells. Bruisers Hockey defenseman Anton Bayer needs to be on his best behavior and up his game to keep his spot on the team. Sylvie Hansen is ecstatic over being given an opportunity as the back-up goalie for the Brooklyn Bombshells. She is also happy about being reunited with the man whom she has been in love with since he billeted with her family, Bruiser center Bryce Campeau. When Bryce breaks her heart, Anton is there to comfort her causing some complications. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

Sarina Bowen does a fabulous job with this book. The characters are likable and have a lot of depth. Anton is the cousin of Eric Bayer from MOONLIGHTER. Anton is a good guy. I found his Frankenwords amusing. His father is a piece of work. I like Sylvie. I thought the hairpin aspect of the story was creative. I enjoyed how Anton and Sylvie befriended each other and grew throughout the story.

Bombshells is an excellent addition to the Brooklyn Bruisers series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
