Camellia Tate lights the lamp with FRIEND LOCKED. Salt Lake Pumas NHL star Felix and dancer Jessie Edwards have been best friends since they were ten years old. Neither one of them ever wanted to cross the friendship line out of fear of losing their friendship. Now Jessie has relocated to Salt Lake City, and they start to question their feeling for one another. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I could relate to Felix. While my parents never owned a zoo, my friends always joke that we have one. There is something about fellow animal lovers who tugs my heart. I love that Jessie and Felix have the same birthday. I enjoyed the snippets into their lives as they were growing up starting with when they met at age ten. I love all the animals, but I especially loved Rudolph and his role in the story.
FRIEND LOCKED is a great addition to the Salt Lake Pumas series. It could easily be followed as a stand-alone but Felix is in the previous book, as well as the other characters in the series being in this story. FRIEND LOCKED was skillfully written and entertaining throughout. I recommend this book to people who enjoy hockey, animals, and/or friends to lover’s romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
