Dax by Kat Mizera
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Kat Mizera lights the lamp with DAX. In this story, hockey star Dax O’Day is ecstatic when his best friend/team mate’s twin sister, Isla Campbell, asks him to pretend to be her fake boyfriend. However, he sets out to make her his real girlfriend, which will not be easy with them living in different countries. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Isla is the twin sister of Ian (Las Vegas Sidewinders #14). I love that this story partially took place in Scotland. It was fun to have everyone back at the castle. I enjoyed Ian’s and Everly’s wedding. Isla and Dax are great characters. They have things in common, but they are quite different. The couple had a lot of thought-provoking and life-changing obstacles to overcome.
I appreciated that this book crossover with three of Kat Mizera series: Las Vegas Sidewinders, Royal Protectors, and Alaska Blizzard (briefly). It was clever how she worked them all into the novel. DAX was skillfully written and entertaining throughout. I recommend this book to people who enjoy hockey romances and books about bodyguards. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
