Cold As Ice by Violet Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Violet Paige gets a hat trick with her third book in the Cold Love series, Cold As Ice. After a potential career-ending injury defenseman Jack Novak is traded to the Virginia Dire Wolves. He meets single mom Noelle Basham while coaching the Dire Wolves junior and tot leagues. He is instantly attracted to Noelle, but she has sworn off hockey players. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Violet Paige does a great job developing her characters. I like Noelle. She has had some difficult obstacles throughout her life. She is a great mom to Phoebe and loving sister/daughter. My heart went out to Jack. He faced with a lot of changes in a short amount of time. He is traded from the only team he ever played for. His career is uncertain. He is uprooted to a new city. I like how he bonds with Phoebe. The two relate, and it helps to Segway his relationship with Noelle.
Cold As Ice is a heartwarming and entertaining read. It is skillfully written and easy to follow. It is the third book in the series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
