Ethan by Jillian Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Jillian Quinn is on a winning streak with the fifth book in the Face-Off series, ETHAN. Ethan Water has had a crush on his best friend Will Roman’s little sister, Mia, since they were kids; but then he left without a word. They are reunited ten years later but now, Mia’s love turned to hate, and Ethan wants to win her back. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I loved this book. Jillian Quinn does a great job with her characters. I like Ethan. He has survivor’s guilt over the death of his twin. His father was extremely hard on him. He had issues he needed to resolve. Mia is a noble heroine. She is Ethan’s light and the person who understood him.
The story had a solid plot. Ethan doesn’t want to risk his friendship with Will, but he loves Mia. He has gone through a lot of hardship. Mia was hurt when Ethan left and needs to learn to trust him again. The two have issues to resolve and confessions to make. Mia’s job with The Philadelphia Inquirer uniquely intertwines with Ethan’s past. The novel had the perfect ending that made the story feel complete. I recommend this story to people who enjoy best friend’s little sister and/or sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
