Kat Mizera prevails with JARED (Las Vegas Sidewinders #13). In this story, Jared Wylde is offered the job as head coach of the Las Vegas Sidewinders. He meets best-selling romance author Renee DeSantos. They have immediate chemistry and begin to develop a relationship when unexpected circumstances become an issue. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences. It takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada and Switzerland.
Kat Mizera does a great job with her characters. I like Jared and Renee. They are in their late thirties and set in their ways. They were both previously married to someone: Jared divorced, and Renee widowed. They have both suffered loss that left them scarred in different ways. Recently, Jared’s life has completely changed. They are both cautious about the next steps to take in their lives. They both do some soul searching. I like that Jared reads one of Renee’s books. My heart went out to Braden. He is an adorable boy who has gone through a great deal.
The plot was well structured and believable. I like that it went from Las Vegas to Switzerland and back again. I appreciated Daisy and Zio being together. They had an interesting impact on the storyline. The novel had a great ending. JARED is a solid addition to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. I recommend this book to people that enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
