In a war of gods and
tyrants, the will of the dragonrider must never falter.
Captured and tortured by the brutal tyrant,
Argonox, Reigh’s worst fears have now been realized. Argonox has successfully
twisted his mysterious dark power for a truly evil purpose—reanimating the
long-deceased legendary dragonrider, Beckah Derrick, and her monstrous king
drake. But Argonox’s cruelty won’t end there, and Reigh fears the worst is yet
to come. Rescue is unlikely as the Tibrans prepare to make their final strike,
poised to break Maldobar’s ranks of proud dragonriders once and for all.
With many of its cities already captured by the
Tibran Empire, all hope now rests with Jaevid, Princess Jenna, Phillip, and
their mismatched band of dragonrider allies to lead the last stand and save
their kingdom. Even in such frightful times, Jaevid may find he still has a few
old friends ready to take up their weapons and stand at his side again. But
facing down Beckah is perhaps the one thing that might break Jaevid’s resolve.
Can he really strike down the woman he used to love in order to save the
kingdom?
One final battle will decide the fate of our
heroes. Can the strength dragonrider prevail once again? Or will the Tibran
Empire become Maldobar’s new legacy?

to meet it with the hope that nothing is impossible.” — Sile Derrick, FLEDGLING

Please welcome Princess Jenna and dragonrider Eirik from Nicole Conway Dragonrider Legacy series to Diane’s Book Blog!
J: “Oh, thank you. We’re pleased
to be here.”
E: “She’s pleased. I’m
ecstatic.”
What are your full names? Do you have
any nicknames?
J: “Jenna Evangeline Farrow, but
I go by Jenna. I guess I don’t really have any nicknames.”
E: “Eirik Thomas Lachlan. People
just call me Eirik … except for my older brothers. They, uh … they call me …
Goose.”
J: “Goose? I didn’t know that.”
E: “It’s not something I
advertise.”
J: “Why’s that? What does it
mean?”
E: “It’s, uh, well, it’s because
when I was about five we had this mean goose and he chased me around the garden
and … I wasn’t paying attention and I ran off the end of our pier into the
pond. Gods, please don’t tell Haldor.”
J: *giggles* “No promises.”
Where were you born? Where have you
lived since then? Where do you currently call home?
J: “I was born in raised in
Halfax, the royal city. And I’m pleased to be living there again.”
E: “I grew up on a farm in the
outskirts of a small city to the south called Two-Rivers. Since I’m a
dragonrider, I travel a lot. My current post was in Westwatch, but it looks
like now I’ll be transferring to teach at the Academy.”
How did you two meet?
E: “Well, it all started when
she tried to kill me.
J: “Oh, gods, here we go.”
E: “We were both first year
fledgling students at the academy. Mind you, she was the very first girl to
ever attend the dragonrider academy as a student. Anyway, I’d seen her in
passing and heard that she’d been hassled a bit—sent a few guys to the
infirmary, too. Then we were pitted against one another in a sparring circle
exercise and, needless to say, she wound up beating me within an inch of my
life, dislocating my shoulder, and sending me to the infirmary, too. I guess
she felt a little bad about it because she came to visit me and apologize
later.”
J: “I did feel bad about it. He
was … nicer than the others. We’ve been friends ever since. Our instructors
even allowed us to swap rooms so we could be paired together as roommates and
training partners.”
E: “I always kinda wanted a
sister.”
J: “Aw, Goosey. That’s so sweet
of you.”
E: “Gods … why did I even
mention that?”
What is your biggest fear?
J: “I … I don’t like spiders.”
E: “Really?”
J: “Aubren and Phillip used to
put them in my shoes when I was little. I don’t know what was worse, having
them pop out and scare or not realizing they were inside and squishing them
with my foot when I put my shoes on.”
E: “That is gross, I’ll grant
you that. I don’t much like cats. They creep me out. But my biggest fear would
probably be my wing leader, Haldor.”
J: “Haldor? He’s not scary.”
E: “You’ve never had to bunk
with him. When we were stationed at Westwatch he threatened to choke me with my
own bootlaces because I threw up in our room after our initiation night.”
J: “Ew, gross. I might’ve choked
you, too.”
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
J: “Phillip—as much as it pains
to me admit.”
E: “He wore you down, eh? All
those years of pining glances and showering you with compliments finally broke
you.”
J: “And what about you and Miri?
Have you proposed to her yet?”
E: *chokes* “T-that’s! I-I … no!
No, I can’t do that. Not yet.”
J: “But eventually, right?”
E: “… yeah. Hopefully. If she
agrees.”
Which talent would you most like to have?
J: “I’ve always wished I could
play an instrument. My mother hired tutors when I was younger, but it was no
good. I suppose I just don’t have the ear for it.”
E: “I wish I was good with
archery. A couple of my brothers are. It never took with me, though.”
J: “Well, if it’s any comfort
you do well with hitting things.”
E: “I do enjoy it.”
Who are the people you are closest to?
J: “This idiot, of course.
Phillip, my brother, Aubren, and I suppose now I’m pretty close with Jaevid.”
E: “Weird to say that isn’t it?
Close friends with a legendary war hero returned from the dead—no big deal.”
J: “It is a little strange.”
E: “I’m close with this nut,
when she isn’t dislocating my limbs in a wild fury. Also, my oldest brother
Alistair. He pretty much raised us when my father served as a dragonrider. My
mother, of course, and … um, Miri.”
J: *grinning*
E: *blushing* “Oh just shut up.”
J: “I didn’t say anything!”
E: “You were thinking it.”

devolves to childish bickering*
