Habits by Anna B. Doe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Anna B. Doe is on a winning streak with HABITS, book two in the Greyford High series. This is Jeanette Sanders’ and Andrew Hill’s story. I loved this book. It held me captivated from the start through the finish. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for young adults.
The Prologue starts out at the senior sleep over from book one, LINES. Jeanette and her twin Max transferred to Greyford High at the beginning of the school year. They relocated to Michigan from California.
Jeanette and Andrew are an interesting couple. They both come from wealthy families. Jeanette has a reputation of being an ice queen, while Andrew has a reputation of an ass hole; personality traits they both put in place to protect themselves. They are both broken. They have been hurt and do not trust easily. The things that they endured are intense. My heart broke for them. I appreciated that they recognized a similarity in one another. They are the perfect people to help each other heal.
The plot was skillfully executed. It was interesting discovering the reason the Sanders’ family relocated to Michigan. I also appreciated discovering Andrew’s history. Anna B. Doe did a great job going back and forth in time. I absolutely adored this story. It was heartfelt and relevant. This is one of those stories that made me stop and reflect. Wondering if someone I know is putting up a front and hiding a secret and pain. HABITS was an amazing addition to the Greyford High series. I cannot wait for book three, RULES. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
