Forward Progress by S.R. Grey
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
S.R. Grey scores a touchdown with FORWARD PROGRESS, the first book in the Men of Fall series. I love S.R. Grey’s Boys of Winter series. I was excited that she came out with this spin-off series. The main character of FORWARD PROGRESS is Graham Tettersaw, the brother of Chloe Tettersaw, from CAUTION ON ICE (Boys of Winter #4). Graham was a star quarterback who suffered a career-ending injury. He is given a second-chance opportunity on a new football team, the catch; they want him to have a pretend girlfriend to help his image. Enter, Eden Vetterly, a beautiful and hard-working woman who is raising her younger brother, Paul.
S.R. Grey does a fantastic job with her character development. Graham is a good guy. He overcame an addition to prescription drugs. He is selfless and hard working. I like that he is friends with a lot of the guys on The Las Vegas Wolves. Eden is an amazing heroine. She is a wonderful guardian to her brother and will do almost anything for him.
The plot was skillfully executed. The story was believable and interesting throughout. There were entertaining twists and obstacles that the characters faced. I didn’t really care for the organization that Graham was working for. They seemed not to care about their players. It made a thought-provoking storyline. FORWARD PROGRESS had a great ending that felt well-concluded. I’m looking forward to Caleb’s story next in FAIR CATCH. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
