Puck Me Secretly (Vancouver Wolves Hockey #1) by Odette Stone Review

Puck Me Secretly (Vancouver Wolves Hockey #1)Puck Me Secretly by Odette Stone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Odette Stone is heating it up with PUCK ME SECRETLY, the first book in the Vancouver Wolves Hockey series. Rory Ashford agreed to return home to Vancouver to work in the family business for the next year. On her flight home, she sits next to a handsome stranger. The plane experiences technical difficulties and plummets. On their way down, Rory confesses that she has never had an orgasm. The man promises that if they survived, he will give her one. They survived; he fulfilled his promise, and she never found out his name. She was shocked on her first day of work to discover that he was, Max Logan, recently traded from the Minnesota Marmot to the Vancouver Wolves. The team her family owns, and she will be working for. This contemporary sports romance is suited for adult audiences.

Odette Stone does an amazing job with this story. I like the way that Rory and Max meet. It was a truly unique situation. That sets an intriguing backdrop for the novel. The story is skillfully written and a page-turner. PUCK ME SECRETLY was like a giant puzzle of details that perfectly came together. There was so much going on from every aspect of the book. It had a little of everything: sports, romance, drama, corporate politics, mystery, the list goes on.

The characters are great. They are dimensional and grow throughout the novel. They face relevant obstacles throughout the book. Max is a wonderful guy. He has a tragic past that is significant to the story. Rory is smart and passionate. The two have amazing chemistry.

This is the first book that I have read by Odette Stone. I enjoyed her writing style and plan to continue following the Vancouver Wolves Hockey series. PUCK ME SECRETLY was a strong foundation for the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
