Heart of a Dragon by Alisa Woods
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Alisa Woods’ HEART OF A DRAGON starts after book one, KISS OF A DRAGON, left off. Dragon shifter Lucian Smoke is fighting his urge to claim Arabella Sharp as his mate for fear of losing her. However, if he doesn’t claim a mate soon and have a dragonling, he will be overcome by the wyvern. This contemporary PNR takes place in Washington State and is suitable for adult audiences.
I like Lucian. He has a good heart. He is afraid to put Arabella in danger because he loves her. I was disappointed with some of his actions in this story, but it is understandable what drives him. I love that so many people care about him and fight for him and Arabella. Arabella is smart, strong, and determined. I love that she does not give up on Lucian.
I like blue dragon, Cinaed. He is a loyal friend to Lucian. He makes a good guard for Arabella. I love his interactions with Arabella’s best friend, Rachel. Those two are pretty humorous.
The plot continues to be exciting and well-thought-out. We discover the history and details of the treaty between the Fae and House of Smoke. Zephan emerges in the story again. He is not a nice Fae. He is a ruthless foe to Lucian. Some of the things he has done are unforgivable. I like how this story ended, and I look forward to book three FIRE OF A DRAGON.
