Of Flame and Promise (Weird Girls #6) by Cecy Robson Review

Of Flame and Promise (Weird Girls, #6)Of Flame and Promise by Cecy Robson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Of Flame and Promise by Cecy Robson is my favorite Weird Girls book yet. The Wird girls were cursed by a spell that ended up giving each of them different powers. Taran Wird has the talent to wield fire and lightning. As a result of her childhood, she is afraid to commit to her relationship with Tahoe region’s Squaw Valley Den Pack second-in-command Tomo Hemamatsu, better known as Gemini. While Taran is not ready to let Gemini claim her, she does agree to meet his parents. The event is one disaster after another.

My heart went out to poor Taran. The girl could not catch a break. The story is told from her viewpoint. Her dialog cracked me up. I love Taran’s attitude. Gemini is a great character. I find it unique that he splits into two wolves. He is strong and loyal. I also love that the other characters had major roles in this story.

The plot was fantastic. I couldn’t believe some of the things that happened. A lot went on in the book; between Gemini’s parents visiting from Japan, the demons, and the drama still going on between Taran’s sister Celia and pack alpha, Aric. I enjoyed the cultural differences. This book had me laughing and crying. Of Flame and Promise is a great addition to the Weird Girls Series. I cannot wait for the next book. I highly suggest reading the books in order.
