Love Notes by Susan Scott Shelley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Susan Scott Shelley’s Love Notes is an entertaining read and excellent start to the Rocked by Love Series.
This contemporary rock romance takes place in the United States, primarily in California. The Fury's lead guitarist, Zander Rostov is frustrated by his bands in-fighting. The only thing that might keep him sane is their new Tour Manager, Jayne Warren.
I liked both Zander and Jayne. I’m an animal person, so I appreciate Zander’s and Jayne’s mutual love of dogs. They have great chemistry. It’s wonderful that they both give back to society. I enjoyed their relationship with Dalton at the community center.
I enjoy Susan Scott Shelley’s writing style. It is easy to follow and reads quickly. The plot is believable and entertaining. Zander’s band mate Luke has it out for Jayne. The conflict that creates is significant. I enjoyed reading about the less glamorous side of being a rock star. The ending was cute and felt well resolved. I would definitely continue following this new series.
On a side note, reading this story made me want to pick up Susan Scott Shelley’s Captivated to hear Zander’s sister Irisa’s and Dom’s story. I’m a hockey girl at heart, but this is one baseball romance that caught my attention. Especially since it seems to take place at the same time as this story.
