An Alpha's Choice by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Brynn Brentwood and Finn Jamenson are representing their packs to the public scrutiny of the humans.
Pretty much the first word that came to my mind after reading this book was WOW. I loved this book. Carrie Ann Ryan does such a fantastic job of creating refreshing and exciting plots.
Finn was introduced to us in the Redwood Pack Series as a baby. It is astounding everything he has been through and physically suffered. Now he is in his thirties and still the heir to his pack. He is incredibly strong and cares for his people. Because of his injury as a child, he has never been in tune with his wolf and has no idea what he is missing. Finn has quickly become one of my favorite characters.
Brynn has also suffered greatly. She is much older than Finn at over one hundred and fifty. She lived through a horrible existence during her father’s reign as Alpha. Thankfully, she has a good relationship with her brothers who are now leaders of the Talon Pack. My heart went out to her. She thinks she is purposely being rejected by Finn and has been hurting for the past year. She also feels that she has no place in the pack. She is a strong character that is admirable.
There is a lot of mystery in the story. The plot was interesting and believable. I love that important events from the Redwood Pack Series were pertinent to this novel. While Carrie Ann Ryan does an excellent job recapping significant events in prior novels, and this book would be easy to follow as a standalone, I recommend reading the Redwood Pack Series and the then Talon Pack Series. All the books are amazing, and the characters are so well developed I think you would have the ultimate reading experience. I love this series!
