Interview

Please welcome Lucky author Ryanne Hawk to Diane’s Book Blog.

If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters do you want by your side?

Definitely Brick from Inked Menace. He’s a special kind of badass that breathes fire. Plus, I’m pretty sure he’s the only one who could actually take me to safety ;)

If you could be best friends with one of your characters, who would it be?

Right now, Amara Delco from Oliver (Inked Menace #2). She’s a badass with a soft heart.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

My two favorite authors are J.D. Robb and Ilona Andrews. J.D. Robb has such a knack for creating characters that are like your best friends. When I read the In Death series, it feels like I’m coming home into a fully realized world I know.
Ilona Andrews creates the most fantastic worlds with so many interesting layers. Stepping into a Kate Daniels novel is much the same for me – like reuniting with old friends. Their characters all have unique and distinguished personalities, but for me – it’s all about the world. You can tell they know their universe backward and forward, and it’s simply fascinating.

What is your typical day like?

Well, I have four kids (5,7,9,11) so my typical day is filled with mom duties. This year though, they are all going to be in school full time (Fist pump! I made it!) So I fully intend to use my time wisely (massages, the gym, shopping) * ha * just kidding. (sort of) My hope is that I’ll be more prolific and productive word count wise.

What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or ebooks?

I prefer ebooks now, though a long time ago (before ereaders, of course) I preferred paperbacks. But the ease of ebooks makes it win by a landslide. It’s nice to have 100 books in one small device that I can take with me anywhere.
