Beat by Vi Keeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Luciana (Lucky) Valentine was in love with her now boyfriend rock star, Dylan Ryder, since she was a teenager. That is until she met Flynn Beckham, singer to the bands new opening act.
Beat is a fantastic novel full of emotion and real-life issues.
Lucky is a likable heroine. Being the daughter of two rock legends, she is familiar with the music scene. She has some issues she needs to work out in order to follow her dreams. Her character is genuine and convincing.
Dylan is a bit of an arrogant jerk. That being said, he is pretty good to Lucky. He treats her better than others. I wanted not to like him, but it wasn’t always easy to do. He is a lot older than Lucky. As a result, they are not always on the same page.
I love Flynn. The guy is pretty much perfect. He is a good brother and uncle. He has a big heart. I appreciated that he goes out of his way to help Lucky. He has a ton is common with her, and they really understand each other.
I adored how Flynn’s niece pronounces his name. It is very appropriate and kept me giggling.
Beat is a fast-paced and entertaining book. It has a great plot that kept me fascinated.
This is the first book I read by Vi Keeland. I really enjoyed her writing style. Beat is well-written and believable.
