About the Author:
Brynna Curry was born south of the Mason-Dixon Line. After living all over the southern states, she finally landed in North Alabama where she lives with her husband and their three children. Growing up, books fueled her dreams and imagination, ultimately becoming her salvation during the hardest times in her life.Writing is her passion, but she enjoys the fun of sharing those stories with others by reviewing books and working in publicity. When she isn’t writing or promoting, she’s often found haunting the library for new books to read or just spending an quiet evening at home with Jackie watching old westerns on TV. Although her wizards, shifters and vampires are as real to her as anyone, she insists love is the truest magic and with it every day is another wonderful adventure.
Please welcome Elemental Magic Series auther Brynna Curry to Diane's Book Blog.
What is your favorite part of the Elemental Magic Series?
The ending of Fire’s Ice where Arianne…well I can’t really say without spoilers.
How long did it take you to write Earth Enchanted?
It took a year to write, edit and find the nerve to submit Earth Enchanted for publication.
If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters do you want by your side?
Devin McLoch, because he can conjure anything we might need and has the ability to teleport.
What's your favorite book-turned movie?
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – I love the magical world Harry lives in and his disadvantaged upbringing only add to his appeal as the underdog. Gotta root for the underdog.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Sherrilyn Kenyon - I love her tormented Dark-Hunters. She writes her characters as though they are people she knows, rather than figments of her imagination. In other words, they simply breathe.
What is your typical day like?
I’d love to tell you I lounge the day away but it’s just not so. I get up at 5:30, catch up on work for SPR, get my youngest daughter off to school and then head to my day job. (I’m a secretary for a construction company.) I take an hour and drive home to eat lunch with Jackie, and then it’s back to work. I clock out at five, drive home, fix dinner and work till around ten on PR and review site business. I spend another hour writing, but often its 1:00 a.m. before I shut my computer down. Wake up the next day and start all over again. I have the weekends off. Those are my marathon writing days.
What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or ebooks?
I love them all. The format isn’t important to me as long as the story is good. I like the portability of my kindle, but sometimes I just want a real book.
