Wicked Waves (Solsti Prophecy #2) by Sharon Kay

Wicked Waves (Solsti Prophecy #2)Wicked Waves by Sharon Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Solsti, Brooke Bonham, is frustrated by being limited to how she uses her element of water and eager for further development of her power. Lash demon and former slave, Kai, has been fighting on Earth for two hundred years. The two can barely stand to be in the same room with each other.

Now the duo needs to go on a mission to the Demon Realm of Torth. A bounty on Kai’s head puts them in danger. They need to work together if they want to survive, becoming closer along the way.

I really liked Wicked Waves. The story was inventive and action packed. The dialog was entertaining and kept you interested.

I enjoyed the love/hate interaction between Brook and Kai. The characters showed growth along the way; especially Brooke who began to come into her powers.

I liked that Kai’s selfless kindnesses of helping others serve him. It also shows that he is a worthy individual.

It is always an added plus for me when a book takes place in my hometown, Chicago. Wicked Waves also has the bonus of taking place on Torth, which is a very well developed fantasy realm.

Sharon Kay did an excellent job with this novel. It is the second book of the series. I skipped the first book and had no problem following Wicked Waves. If anything it just made me want to go back and read Brooke’s sister, Nicole’s, story in Wicked Wind. I am also intrigued to read the next book in the series Wicked Flames. Especially since the third sister, Gin, goes to school at my alma mater, go Illini! Clearly, the girl has good taste.
