Jennifer Estep's UNWANTED: Interview & Giveaway

UNWANTED

The New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series continues with a new e-novella--from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, the foster brother of Gin Blanco, and a fan favorite of readers of the series.

The fallout from his disastrous “family reunion” in Bitter Bite has left Finn feeling hurt, angry, and depressed. He can barely stand to look at himself in the mirror, much less eat any of the delicious barbecue from Gin’s famed Pork Pit restaurant.

But when the funeral for a slain security guard at his bank turns into a showdown with some nasty underworld giants, Finn knows that he must act in order to protect an innocent family.

Finnegan Lane might be the most unwanted man in Ashland these days, but he’s determined to try to make amends for his past mistakes…

Interview

Please welcome Elemental Assassin author Jennifer Estep to Diane’s Book Blog.

What is your favorite part of the story, UNWANTED?

JE: UNWANTED is told from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, Gin’s foster brother. Finn is a fan favorite secondary character, and I had been wanting to write something from his point of view for a while. So it was really fun for me to delve deeper into Finn’s character and explore his thoughts and feelings.

How long did it take you to write UNWANTED?

JE: UNWANTED is an e-novella that’s about 20,000 words, so it’s much shorter than my usual full-length books. It took me about two months to write the e-novella.

If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters do you want by your side?

JE: Definitely Gin and Finn. I would pick Gin for her survival skills and Finn for his witty conversation.

What is your typical day like?

JE: I’m usually on the computer by 9 a.m. checking my emails and social media sites. Once that’s done, I work on whatever I need to do that day, whether it’s writing, reading through page proofs, blogging, etc. I take a break for lunch, then go back to work.

I take another break in the afternoon, then go back to work in the evening. Sometimes, I’ll work as late as 10 p.m. if I have a deadline or something that needs to get done.

What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or ebooks?

JE: I prefer paperback books. I always feel guilty when I crack the spine on a hardcover book, and I spend so much time on the computer already that I don’t often read ebooks. So it’s definitely paperback books for me.
