Assassin's Kiss by Sharon Kay is an exciting adult fantasy romance that kept me enthralled. It takes place toward the end of Book One, Tainted Kiss. Lash Demon Warrior, Scorpio finds himself transported to a witch coven that wants him punished for a past crime he committed. While there he meets his mate, Tessa, and wants to help save the community that he wronged.
Sharon Kay created an exciting plot that had wonderful characters. I liked that the story is a result from something that happened in Scorpio’s past before he was a Watcher. He was cursed and now it is playing out. Scorpio is a noble hero. He is not proud of the things he was forced to do in the past and wants to make amends. He is a lethal warrior who protects what is his. Tessa in a way is similar, wanting to sacrifice herself to a marriage that will help her people. The two characters have great chemistry. I enjoyed how their relationship evolved through the story; starting out with Tessa despising Scorpio.
There were numerous interesting twists full of mystery and thrills. This story also demonstrates important life lessons that could be related to real-world situations. Watcher's Kiss is a great series for adults who enjoy fantasy and paranormal romances.
