Stroke of Midnight by Lara Adrian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Breed warrior, Jehan Mafakhir, and Breedmate, Seraphina Sanhaja, are called home by their families to partake in an arranged handfasting that neither one wants to be a part of. Conversely, they have difficulty denying their attraction to each other.
I love the Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian. I was excited when I found out that it was part of the 1001 Dark Nights Novellas. It is a great addition to both series.
I enjoyed the characters. They are very well developed. Jehan is brave, protective, and kind. Seraphina is a selfless humanitarian that puts others needs above her own. Initially, they both misjudge the other. The more they get to know one another it is obvious how compatible they are for each another.
Lara Adrian is a wonderful writer. Stroke of Midnight’s plot is carefully thought out and full of depth. It has action, mystery, romance, conflict, deceit, war, and humanity. It had some exciting unexpected twist that worked well with the Midnight Breed storyline. This is a must-read for Midnight Breed fans. However, this story could easily be followed as a stand-alone.
