Title: Killian
Author: Elizabeth Kelly
Genre: Paranormal Romance / Fantasy

Growing up the son of a fairy King – Easy.
Being accepted to the fiercest, strongest, fairy warrior army ever to protect the realm – Easy.
Making the human girl, who holds your destiny in her hands, fall in love with you – Not so Easy.
When the Fairy Kingdom of Avalon comes under attack, Prince Killian, Fairy warrior, and heir to the throne, prepares for battle. But when the prophesy of a Seer overshadows his fate and while his family is dying around him, he flees Avalon to the Human Realm. He vows to return and claim his destiny, only…he never thought his vengeance would mean fifty years stuck in the human realm with no way home.
Reagan Lunsa is completely alone and she thinks she likes it that way. She buries her grief from her parents’ mysterious disappearance, 3 years ago by keeping busy at her university art school and working at Faircrest’s New Age shop. All while secretly spending every free moment on solving the mystery of what really happened to her parents.

On a rare night out her attention is caught by a handsome, sexy bartender who seeks her out, asking for friendship, and maybe more. This stranger is unlike any man she's ever known.
And when she discovers he’s also hiding secrets her world turns upside down, all while she falls deeply in love with this protective, and patient Fairy prince.
Reagan finds that learning to trust again is harder than she thought. Especially when the truth, and her love, leads her into a world unlike she has ever known.
A world where fairies exist and humans are not welcome.

Excerpt

“Can I help you?” I ask from the closet where I am pulling open boxes from my real home.
“You know you can, but you keep knocking me back.”
Alex snorts at him while shaking her head. “Dude, do you ever give up?”
“Nope, why would I?” He smiles at me.
Jake is the same age as me, twenty-one, but sometimes he acts about sixteen. Especially when it comes to a particular part of his body. After searching through five boxes, I find my costume. Okay, so it’s about 10 years old, but all I want are the wings. My mom made them for me and I was the best dressed fairy that Halloween.
“Okay, I found it you can both piss off now,” I call out, laughing as I do. Alex rushes back inside the tiny closet, squashing me up against the wall. “Back up.” I moan, pushing her out. Holding out my blue wings, I smile. “See told you.”
“Wow, they are so pretty.” Alex runs her fingers along the gauze-like material. Jake just shrugs and hops off the bed.
“So what time are we leaving?” he asks, looking from Alex to me.
“You’re not invited,” Alex quips, smoothing her hair over her ear. She and Jake get into a back and forth about him going.

Interview

Please welcome Killian author Elizabeth Kelly to Diane’s Book Blog.

What is your favorite part of the story, Killian?

My favorite part of Killian, is when Reagan is beginning to trust him and then they find the Fairy box in her house, which causes her to question herself and Killian. I didn’t want this to be a straight forward ‘fall in love’ story.

How long did it take you to write Killian?

Killian took me about six months to write because I was writing other books at the same time.

If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters do you want by your side?

This is a hard question, I love all of my characters, but I’d have to pick either Knox or Killian.

If you could be best friends with one of your characters, who would it be?

For the girls probably Emery or Reagan. The guys, Max & Logan (unreleased project).

What inspired you to write your first book?

Honestly, the news gave me a general idea but my youngest sister pushed me to do it.

What is your favorite book that you wrote?

I really like all my books (biased) I know but for emotional value I’d chose Taking Chances (Book 2 in the Blackrock series) and Finding Forever (upcoming project). It’s hard to pick just one though, it feels like you’re choosing one child over another.

What's your favorite book-turned movie?

I liked the City of Bones, I know a lot of people didn’t but I enjoyed the movie as well as the books.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I have two favorites, Barbara Erskine, who writes time slip/ghost stories. I love getting lost in the history of her books and Tami Hoag, she writes mostly police and forensic books, this because Crime scene investigations is my ‘real’ job.

How do you overcome writer’s block?

I don’t really get writers block, if I feel a story line is going stale or I just can’t get it right, then I’ll close it down and move onto another story.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

Unedited – Treachery Book 2 in the Avalon series

I was excited, when father announced Avery and I were betroth. He kept me in the dark and would not give me even the slightest hint of what he was doing. But now, I can’t keep the smile from my face as I dance around the fire with him.
My love my true mate my one and only.
We dance for hours before Killian announces he is leaving. I want to find my brother a mate, of all the fairies I know, he most deserving.
“I wish he had a love like ours,” I sigh, as I watch him walk away.
“One day Ari, I promise, he will be happy. I have asked the Goddess to bring him a love as she has brought me.” Avery smiles down at me, his handsome face and enchanting brown eyes shining with love.
“I am counting the moons until I can call you my husband.”
I whisper and twirl into his arms again. Avery and I dance until the sun crests the horizon.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

To readers, I would just like to say thank you for all your support and for reading my stories.

xoxo
Elizabeth
