Lure by Alyssa Rose Ivy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Over two years ago Daisy Wolford was rescued from vampires by Owen, a paranormal being with black wings. They shared a kiss that ruined her for other, leaving her unable to stop thinking about him. Now she is returning to New Orleans to seek Owen out.
Lure was a remarkable book filled with action and suspense.
I enjoyed Daisy’s character. I respected that she sought Owen out after so many years, although no one believed her. I felt for her having to undergo the effects of Seduction’s Kiss, a magical paste a witch put on her, causing her to undergo changes.
The Allures are an interesting species. I enjoyed learning about them and their characteristics. Violet, Hugh, and Roland are an amusing trio that kept the story entertaining and unpredictable.
I really like Owen. Despite being the advisor to the king he is down to earth and uncertain of his worth. He has a great personality and good heart.
Lure has an excellent plot that kept me engaged. The story is well-written and creative.
The ending left me anxiously anticipating the next book. I cannot wait to see obstacles Daisy and Owen have to overcome.
